I've been loving all the requests for various colors and creating like crazy to keep up with them.
Unfortunately I'm a little slow but for good reason. My illustrating jobs (I also work as an illustrator) have kept me busy as have wholesale orders.
But I'm back! With more to offer in my etsy shop:

Scarves, scarves and more scarves

As I said...it was on a whim that I brought out my sewing machine. It had been gathering lots of dust in the basement. At first I was going to make a throw blanket out of a bunch of wool scraps I had leftover from last year. After one row I realized how long it was going to take so I threw the piece around my neck and looked in the mirror. And there it was...a new product that I thought might sell.

And here I am 3 weeks and 75 scarves later. The fun news that I mentioned in the last post was regarding The Today Show. Etsy, the website I sell from asked me to overnight a scarf to The Today Show. I was hoping to be able to announce it so you all could watch! Did you know there was a weekend edition? I didn't. In any case, it aired on Saturday morning. Oops. Missed it.

I saw the clip online and it was a simple holiday shopping segment. Mostly geared to promote various stores and websites. My shop name wasn't mentioned but it was still fun to see and say "Hey, that's my scarf on TV"...albeit belated.

So that's the exciting news I should have posted here several days ago. Sorry, I've been too busy making scarves! They sell as fast as I can sew them it seems.
for me.

It's a funny thing. Wierd really. And it makes me feel a little bashful and strange to say this.
But...

One of my scarves was on The Today Show over the weekend. Crazy, right? I sell on a website called Etsy. And Etsy was part of the segment about gift buying for the upcoming Christmas holiday.

It was a short little segment but still made my heart skip a beat when I saw. My Scarf. On TV. On The Today Show of all places.

How fun is that?

Seriously though, I was very honored to be asked to send in my scarf. I quickly overnighted it and then frantically started sewing. I have many new scarves available now. And more to come!

See it? Way over on the side over there. Under the brown hat.

Oooo, she's pointing at it. Mmm, she's probably pointing at the hat, eh? But I'll believe it's my scarf.

Touching it? She's touching it!
Yes, it's oh so soft felted wool in a beautiful pale blue.

A beauty shot. If they would have just put those words in a different place so you could see it all. But who's complaining.

It's always fun to see one of your items on the frontpage of etsy! Not that I've had items appear that all too often. only a few times. I enjoy knowing that others like what I make.

I've been sewing up a storm hoping that one of these days I will have a fully stocked etsy store. Actually, it's a blessing to have trouble keeping the scarves in stock...for which I'm extremely grateful.

We are being threatened by our first freeze of the year. It's likely just days away and I'm not sure I'm ready. But my neck is! Is yours? It's amazing how scarf cuts the chill and the rest of you stays toasty warm too.

Welcome!

There is a chill in the air here in the western NC mountains and I'm back on etsy with a wintery round of wool products.

After a good year or two off from blogging, it feels a little strange to be here typing. A good strange though.
In the time that I've been away we moved across the country, we settled, and we have started new endeavors. And I believe I've gotten over my creative burn out and am feeling creative again. A nice feeling for sure.

I hope you'll have a chance to pop in to my etsy shop. It's been a pleasant surprise to have my scarfs so well received the past couple weeks. Thank you thank you to all my customers! I'm so grateful. They are selling so quick, I can't seem to get my store stocked! But I've been working all weekend so keep an eye out for new colors.
